Cap & Gown Night
Grad Night is a special moment for graduates to celebrate with their families, take pictures, and enjoy a fun evening. Official graduation pictures are taken at this event, which occurs one week before the Commencement Ceremony.
Attendance Requirement
All graduates are expected to attend Grad Night to formalize their clearance for graduation and to receive their cap and gown for the Commencement Ceremony.
Event Details
Grad Night takes place from 6 to 9 pm at AU University Park, 1011 Sunnybrook Rd, Miami, FL 33136, and this year will be on Thursday, December 12. We will have a DJ, music, food, and plenty of fun! Graduates should come “dressed to impress” in business casual or cocktail attire.
Recommended Attire
Men: Suit and tie
Women: Pants with a jacket/blazer, or a cocktail dress
What to Expect
Graduates will visit all academic departments to ensure they are “cleared both financially and academically.” Each AU department will be set up in the Rec Center, and graduates will visit each one to receive clearance, ending at the final stop where they will receive their cap and gown for official photos.

Registration Process
Upon arrival at AU Park, you will receive a GRADUATE CLEARANCE CARD. The card has four boxes, one for each department you need to visit. You must stop by each station to receive the necessary “STAMP” of approval or clearance from each department.
