Program Competencies
The Master of Science in Healthcare Management (MSHM) program at Atlantis University is designed around a comprehensive, competency-based curriculum that ensures students develop the knowledge, skills, and attitudes essential for success in healthcare leadership roles. The curriculum is structured around 18 core competencies, organized into seven domains aligned with the most current version of the NCHL Health Leadership Competency Model.
These domains include four Action Domains and three Enabling Domains, reflecting the dynamic, complex, and interdisciplinary nature of today’s healthcare systems.
This process culminated in the adoption of the National Center for Healthcare Leadership (NCHL) Healthcare Leadership Competency Model in 2018, ensuring that the program adheres to nationally recognized standards for healthcare leadership excellence.
Structure of the Competency Model
The updated Health Leadership Competency Model adopted by the MSHM program identifies and organizes a set of essential competencies required for the successful performance of leaders in the healthcare field. These competencies are structured into seven interrelated domains, divided into two categories:
