Master of Science in Healthcare Management
Learning Outcome
The Master of Science in Healthcare Management (MSHM) program at Atlantis University is designed to develop healthcare professionals who can effectively lead, analyze, and improve healthcare organizations and systems in complex and evolving environments. The Program Learning Outcomes (PLOs) reflect the knowledge, skills, and professional competencies students are expected to demonstrate upon completion of the program.
Through a competency-based and applied learning approach, students integrate leadership, evidence-based decision-making, communication, ethics, healthcare technology and informatics, operational performance, and population and community health. Upon successful completion of the program, graduates will be able to apply these competencies to address real-world healthcare management challenges, improve organizational and health system performance, and contribute to the delivery of effective, ethical, equitable, and innovative healthcare services.
MSHM Program Learning Outcomes and Focus Areas
Upon successful completion of the MSHM program, graduates will be able to demonstrate the following program-level learning outcomes:
- PLO 1: Leadership & Strategic Management. Lead and manage healthcare organizations by applying strategic management principles, organizational leadership practices, and effective approaches to multidisciplinary team performance.
- PLO 2: Analytical & Evidence-Based Decision Making. Analyze complex healthcare management problems using quantitative and qualitative evidence to formulate data-driven, evidence-based managerial decisions and solutions.
- PLO 3: Communication & Collaboration. Communicate effectively with diverse healthcare stakeholders through professional written, oral, and interpersonal communication to support collaboration, negotiation, and organizational decision-making.
- PLO 4: Ethics, Law & Professional Responsibility. Evaluate healthcare management decisions using ethical principles, legal and regulatory requirements, professional standards, and organizational governance frameworks.
- PLO 5: Healthcare Technology & Informatics. Apply healthcare information systems, digital technologies, data analytics, and emerging technologies to support organizational performance and evidence-based managerial decision-making.
- PLO 6: Operations, Quality & Performance Improvement. Evaluate healthcare operations and organizational performance to develop strategies that improve quality, safety, efficiency, resource utilization, and healthcare service delivery.
- PLO 7: Population, Community & Health Systems. Analyze healthcare systems and population and community health needs to develop management strategies that improve access, equity, prevention, and health outcomes across diverse populations.
- PLO 8: Integrative Healthcare Management Practice. Integrate leadership, financial, operational, technological, ethical, analytical, and professional competencies to develop and defend evidence-based solutions to complex real-world healthcare management challenges.
