Microsoft Guidelines for Human-AI Interaction
Atlantis University is pleased to welcome Dr. Shipi Dhanorkar for an engaging discussion on Guidelines for Human-AI Interaction and the Microsoft HAX Toolkit. Shipi Dhanorkar is an applied researcher at Microsoft’s Aether (AI Ethics and Effects in Engineering and Research) team. She has a background in human computer interaction, program evaluation, and computer science. At Aether, her work has focused on mitigating overreliance and fostering appropriate reliance on AI systems, the development of a responsible AI maturity model and as a PM on the HAX Toolkit.

Advances in AI frame opportunities and challenges for user interface design. Principles for human AI interaction have been discussed in the human-computer interaction community for over two decades, but more study and innovation are needed in light of advances in AI and the growing uses of AI technologies in human-facing applications. Guidelines for Human-AI Interaction can serve as a resource to practitioners working on the design of applications and features that harness AI technologies, and to researchers interested in the further development of guidelines for human-AI interaction design.
